Chef Giovanni Filippone

A transplant to the United States from Givette, France, Giovanni Filippone is certainly making his mark on the culinary world; one award-winning restaurant at a time.

Spending his summers in Italy until he was of the age of ten, Giovanni Filippone certainly picked up on the Italians strongest tradition at an early age - the belief that the pleasure of eating is directly linked to the pleasure of living. Filiponne has dedicated his life and career to simply this.

In 2002, Filiponne was presented with an offer he could not refuse – an executive chef position with Chef Tim Creehan’s Beach Walk Crystal Beach, Destin, Florida’s most awarded and only fine-dining on the Gulf of Mexico. Throughout the next five years, Filippone would utilize his education and culinary talents to embellish Beach Walk’s menu with culinary delights that have become to be known as flagship entrees for the restaurant.

In May 2007, Filiponne was again presented with a prominent offering – the executive chef position at Creehan’s Copper Grill; Destin’s finest steak house.

Chef Tim Creehan & Company has earned numerous accolades and awards including Florida Trend’s Top 25 Restaurants, Golden Spoon Award, the award of excellence from both DiRoNA (Distinguished Restaurants of North America) and Wine Spectator as well as Best Fine Dining, Best Chef, Best Service on the Emerald Coast by Emerald Coast Magazine.
